Flagright, an AI-native financial crime compliance company based in San Francisco, has raised $12.5 million in a Series A round as it pushes to become the standard compliance infrastructure for regulated financial institutions. The round was led by Infinity Ventures, with participation from Sella and continued backing from existing investors Frontline and Y Combinator.
The company describes its product as an AI operating system for fintech compliance, pulling several functions that often live in separate tools into one platform. That includes transaction monitoring, watchlist screening, risk scoring, case management, AI forensics, and governance workflows, all under a single roof.
Flagright already works with more than 100 banks and fintechs across 35 countries. The company says clients see up to 93% fewer false positives after switching to its platform, a figure that speaks to one of the most persistent frustrations in compliance work, where teams spend large amounts of time chasing alerts that turn out to be nothing.
The fresh capital will go toward expanding the platform’s explainable AI capabilities and growing the company’s footprint in the US market. More specifically, Flagright intends to widen its AI coverage across investigations, alert intelligence, rule optimization, decision support, and audit-ready workflows. The target customers are banks, fintechs, credit unions, and other regulated institutions looking to replace fragmented or aging compliance systems.
With a clear product pitch and a growing international client base, Flagright is using the round to press its case as the platform regulated firms turn to when they want to consolidate their compliance stack.
