Ando has announced $20 million in Seed round funding from Accel, Index Ventures and Emergence Capital. The company also counts Contrary Capital among its backers.
Ando is based in San Francisco. It came out of stealth on September 24, 2026, after close to a year spent building team messaging designed from scratch for people and AI agents to work side by side.
Inside Ando, an agent is a full member of the workspace rather than a bot bolted onto the edge of the organization. Agents get the identity, permissions and shared context they need to take part in channels, threads and live conversations. They can follow the discussions they belong to, keep persistent context and memory, chip in proactively and join Jams, which are Ando’s real-time conversations.
The product starts with familiar pieces such as channels, DMs and group conversations. It is agent-agnostic, so teams can bring the cloud agents and agent frameworks they already rely on, including Codex, Claude and Grokbot, instead of being locked into one ecosystem.
Teams in about a dozen countries already use the platform, across sectors including software, real estate and financial services. Ando’s own staff has worked only inside the product since January. Among Ando and its early users, agents are already involved in engineering, research, product, operations, sales and company-building.
Founder and CEO Sara Du is a second-time founder and a Thiel Fellow who previously started enterprise API platform Alloy Automation. The California company wants to become the default messaging platform for businesses that treat agents as coworkers rather than tools.
Vendors building for fast-growing software teams can get verified founder and executive contacts at newly funded startups every week with B2B SaaS Leads.
