Claris Biotherapeutics, a Jersey City, New Jersey biotech developing treatments for serious eye conditions, has closed a $118 million Series B round. Samsara Biocapital and Catalio Capital Management jointly led the financing, which was announced on July 28, 2026.
A broad group of investors joined, including Adage Capital Management, Sofinnova Investments, Aisling Capital and ADAR1 Capital Management, with continued support from Novo Holdings, Janus Henderson Investors and Mass General Brigham Ventures.
The company is advancing CSB-001, an ophthalmic solution known as oremepermin alfa, toward pivotal studies planned for the first half of 2027 in patients with limbal stem cell deficiency. That work rests on positive proof of concept data reported to date.
Alongside the raise, Claris named Stephen Brady as president and chief executive, Brian Baum as chief commercial officer and Marc de Garidel as chairman of the board. The funding will support ongoing clinical studies, the planned Phase 3 program and early commercialization work.
