Buildforce, a Houston, Texas company that runs a technology driven staffing platform for electricians, has raised $10 million in Series A funding to widen its reach across the country.
The company connects individual electricians with electrical contractors handling commercial and industrial construction projects. Its setup includes a mobile app that electricians use to find and take on jobs, plus a web tool that contractors use to locate and manage available workers.
Saepio Capital led the round. Blue Heron Capital joined as a new investor, and existing backers came along as well, including Revolution’s Rise of the Rest Seed Fund, S3 Ventures and Chicago Ventures. Buildforce plans to put the money toward national expansion and further development of its technology for both electricians and contractors.
Founded in 2019, Buildforce describes itself as the largest technology enabled electrician staffing business in the United States. Electricians working through the platform have logged more than 2,000,000 hours across over 2,000 commercial construction projects to date.
The timing fits a strong demand picture for electrical labor. A 2026 economic report from BlackRock projected that the electrical trade will be the fastest growing employment category in the United States labor market over the next 10 years, at a rate of 9.5% per year.
