Mitti Labs has raised $9.5 million in a Series A led by Aramco Ventures, the venture arm of Saudi Aramco. The climate technology company keeps its headquarters in New York, New York, and runs its operations out of Bengaluru. For Aramco Ventures, the cheque marks its first investment in India.

Lightspeed India returned to the round. Godrej Industries Group, Cisco Foundation, Francis Family Fund and Volta Circle all backed the company for the first time. Mitti Labs has now raised $12.5 million in total.

The company works at the intersection of agriculture and emissions measurement. Its GeoAI platform combines satellite radar imagery with data gathered in the field to build digital twins of individual rice paddies, then tracks how much water each one uses and how much methane it releases. Rice is one of the more stubborn sources of agricultural methane, and smallholder plots have historically been difficult to measure at any useful resolution.

Mitti Labs says its methods cut water use by roughly 40 percent and lower methane emissions by more than half, while yields hold steady. The programs have grown quickly. Around 8,000 farmers took part in the debut 2024 season. More than 100,000 are enrolled today across several Indian states.

Revenue comes from two places. Companies buy the carbon credits generated by the reductions, which becomes additional income for the farmers involved, and Mitti Labs also earns from the GeoAI platform itself.

Next comes geography. The company plans to move into the Philippines, Indonesia and the wider Southeast Asia region across 2026 and 2027.
