Radian Forge has closed a $2.5 million Series Seed Preferred financing led by Veteran Ventures Capital. The money goes toward expanding large-format wire arc additive manufacturing capacity for US naval, maritime, and defense customers.

The round came through VVC’s Fund II. The Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation and existing Radian Forge investors also took part.

Veteran Ventures Capital backs dual-use national security technologies with a focus on businesses led by military veterans. Its portfolio spans defense, aerospace, advanced manufacturing, cybersecurity, and related fields.

Joshua Weed, the general partner at VVC who led the investment, is joining Radian Forge’s board of directors.

The company sits in Portsmouth, Virginia, next to some of the largest naval shipbuilding and repair facilities in the country. That location matters for the problem it is working on: getting critical metal components into customers’ hands in weeks rather than months. Wire arc additive manufacturing produces large precision-grade parts with material properties that sit between castings and forgings, and it cuts production lead times by 40 to 80 percent.

The financing follows a February 2026 plan for Radian Forge to put $10.5 million into expanding its Portsmouth operations. That project is expected to create 53 jobs and has been approved for a $265,000 grant from the Commonwealth’s Opportunity Fund.
