Yope, a private social networking app built around small groups of friends and family, has raised a $12.3 million seed round. Northzone led the financing, which the company announced on July 22, 2026, with Inovo, Redseed, and Geek Ventures also taking part. The round brings Yope’s total funding to $20 million.
Founded in 2021 by Bahram Ismailau and Paul Rudkouski, Yope centers on what it calls micro communities, small private spaces where people share photos, videos, and messages, along with AI-generated recaps of their best moments. There is no public feed, no algorithmic ranking, and no advertising. Instead, the company is moving toward a paid subscription model aimed at its most active members.
Yope says it has drawn more than 14 million users, who together have shared over half a billion photos and videos. More than half of them open the app at least five days a week.
The company plans to use the new capital to keep building the product, grow a team that now numbers around 35 people, and open its first office in the United States.
