Inner Logic, a medical technology company based in Baltimore, Maryland, has raised an $11.5 million seed round to build simulation infrastructure for surgical devices. General Catalyst and Bison Ventures led the round, which closed on July 22, 2026.
J2VP, Defined, PTX, Valia Ventures, Page One, Alumni Ventures, and Flare also joined. Formerly known as Semaphor, Inner Logic is building what it describes as autonomy-enabling infrastructure for procedural medical devices. The idea is to move development and testing into simulation environments, which the company believes can improve surgical outcomes and open the door to autonomous systems.
Inner Logic was founded by chief executive Tito Porras, MD, chief technology officer Mathias Unberath, PhD, and chief robotics officer Axel Krieger, PhD. The team plans to put the capital toward building out its simulation platform for the next generation of procedural devices.
