Westmag, an American manufacturer of drone motors and robot actuators, has emerged from stealth with $11 million in Seed funding led by Andreessen Horowitz. Founders Fund, Lux Capital, NFDG, Menlo Ventures, and other investors also took part. The announcement came in early June 2026.
The company, short for Western Magnetics Company, runs its launch manufacturing facility and headquarters, Factory 01, in South San Francisco, California. Westmag is ramping production at Factory 01 to fulfill a current book of committed customer orders for hundreds of thousands of units.
Westmag was co-founded by CEO David Hansen and COO Jordan Sanders. Since raising the funding, the company has been building industrial capacity, securing critical suppliers, and validating its hardware by partnering with high-volume customers.
