Rebuild, which calls itself the AI operating system for the property restoration industry, has raised more than $13 million in a Seed round. Asymmetric Capital Partners, Gutter Capital, 25madison, Lightbank, and Green Egg Ventures provided the funding, which the company will use to expand its New York City team across engineering, sales, and customer success.

The construction and restoration market it serves is worth roughly $100 billion and still runs on decades-old workflows. When a pipe bursts or a hurricane moves through a neighborhood, restoration contractors are among the first businesses called, yet getting a family back into a home still means documenting damage, building estimates line by line, working through insurance requirements, and revising claims repeatedly before any work can start.

Rebuild uses AI to compress that from weeks into hours. The platform automates the administrative work that sits between a contractor arriving at a property and a claim getting approved and paid. Customers are cutting claim cycle times by more than 50% and increasing reimbursements by over 10%, which means work starts and finishes sooner and each project carries better economics.

The growth numbers reflect that. Revenue is up nearly 5x over the past year, and operators across some of the largest restoration networks in the country use the product, including Servpro, ServiceMaster, and Belfor.

Founder and CEO Alex Toporek grew up around his father’s restoration business in the Northeast and watched experienced operators lose hours to paperwork, estimating, and insurance administration, time that delayed recovery for homeowners. He originally built Rebuild to fix those problems inside the family business, which has since cut its own claim cycle times by more than 70%.

Investors framed the opportunity in different ways. Rob Biederman of Asymmetric Capital Partners pointed to returns on the order of 50 to 100x for customers in a massive, essential industry where better software translates directly into faster recovery for homeowners. Dan Teran of Gutter Capital described three trends converging: generational transformation in the restoration industry, rising extreme weather events, and AI finally letting software do actual work for small and mid-sized businesses. Grant Silow of 25madison joined the earliest customer conversations during the ideation phase.

Those conditions are intensifying. Extreme weather is increasing the frequency and severity of property damage while labor shortages push restoration businesses to do more with the teams they have.

With the new money, Rebuild will move beyond estimating and claims into other high-friction workflows contractors handle daily. The longer-term aim is to become the operating system behind the restoration industry.
