Queue, a company based in Palo Alto, California, has raised an oversubscribed $12.6 million Seed round led by AlleyCorp. The round follows a $6 million pre seed led by Riot Ventures less than a year ago and brings total funding to $18.6 million. House Capital, Ubiquity Ventures, Grep Ventures, and Banter Capital also took part.

The company has come out of stealth with what it calls the world’s first fully autonomous robotic pharmacy. Its system fills and verifies prescriptions straight from sealed wholesale pill bottles, without needing a pharmacist on site.

Queue says the setup can cut the cost of filling prescriptions by as much as 96% compared with traditional pharmacies, and can be placed in retail stores, hospitals, rural communities, and other settings where healthcare access is limited.

The company was co-founded by chief executive Nick Desai, a repeat entrepreneur who earlier founded the home care company Heal, which raised more than $200 million, and chief technology officer Josh Liu, whose background spans Tesla and Zipline.
