Legio has raised $5 million in a Seed round led by Klass Capital, announced on August 11, 2026. The Toronto company sells an AI native safety and security operations platform built specifically for higher education.
Campus public safety departments tend to run on a patchwork of systems that were never designed to talk to each other. Legio’s platform pulls dispatch, incident response, case work, patrols and asset management into one system of record, and then generates compliance reporting automatically from the operational data already flowing through it.
That automatic reporting is more valuable than it sounds. Institutions carry heavy federal and state reporting obligations around campus safety, and most of that work is currently assembled by hand from records scattered across several tools.
Darren Hill, Mike Wertman and Joe Crampton founded the company in 2026. The money is going toward product development, engineering hires and expanding a design partner program across higher education institutions.
