EdVisorly, based in Los Angeles, California, runs an AI-native platform for university admissions and has raised $13.3 million in a Series A round led by Breachway Capital. U.S. News & World Report, Lumina Foundation, Strada Education Foundation, Motley Fool Ventures, Juvo Ventures and Zeal Capital Partners also joined.
Started in 2019, EdVisorly focuses on the roughly 10.5 million community college students trying to transfer to four-year universities. Its EddyAI platform automates back-office work like transcript processing, transfer credit mapping and GPA recalculations, letting applicants upload transcripts for an unofficial credit evaluation that shows how credits carry over, what a degree will cost and how many semesters remain. Institutions using it have cut manual processing by as much as 85 percent.
The company counts more than 100 colleges, universities and higher education systems as customers, including Carnegie Mellon University and the University of Connecticut, and will use the funding to strengthen enrollment success across more campuses.
