Bolter, an AI-native messaging platform where non-technical operators automate business processes by describing them in plain text, has come out of stealth with $10 million from Improbable. The London, England company announced the funding on September 10, 2026.
Improbable, also based in London, was founded in 2012 and raised $500 million from SoftBank in 2017. It has since moved away from its gaming and metaverse infrastructure origins and now describes itself as a venture builder. It puts Seed capital into products it develops in-house, which may go on to raise outside money in later rounds. Bolter is the third product it has taken out of stealth since making that shift in 2023, following the blockchain product Somnia and the AI product Kallikor.
The product is run by a team of seven and began as a personal project that Improbable CEO and co-founder Herman Narula coded himself. Users set a goal, and Bolter’s AI agents plan, debate, and pass work to one another to get it done. The platform is model-neutral, routing each request to whichever model suits the task. Bolter is pitching itself as a European alternative to the large US messaging platforms, arguing that Europe should have major messaging products of its own.
Bolter is now available in an invite-only beta, onboarding operators in small batches so each new member gets help automating their work. Access requests are open at bolter.chat.
