Caplight Technologies, a San Francisco, California company building data and transaction tools for private markets, has closed a $16 million Series A round. The financing was announced on June 24, 2026.

Fin Capital led the round alongside BlackRock, with new investor LEAP Global Partners co-leading. Existing backers also added to their positions, including DB1 Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Deutsche Börse Group, along with Better Tomorrow Ventures, Clocktower Ventures, and Dash Fund. UBS Investment Bank took part as a strategic investor.

Caplight combines proprietary private company data with a marketplace that connects investors and broker-dealers for secondary market liquidity. Founded in 2021 by Javier Avalos and Justin Moore, the company has built a platform that pulls private markets data and investing into one place.

The scale of that data is considerable. Caplight reports 100,000 company and investor profiles, $4 trillion in funding round data, more than $300 billion in proprietary secondary data, and over $5 billion in daily live transaction flow. Customers, who collectively manage more than $52 trillion in assets, reach the platform through its interface, an API, and an MCP server.

The new capital is meant to extend the company’s lead in venture secondary data and to fund expansion across private market data and agentic workflows for research and transactions.
