Articul8, an enterprise AI company based in Palo Alto, California, has closed more than $35 million as the first tranche of a planned $70 million Series B round. The deal values the company at $500 million pre-money. Adara Ventures led the round, with participation from chipmaker NXC Corp., Aditya Birla Ventures, and others.
Articul8 was spun out of Intel in early 2024 and has moved quickly since. It builds specialized AI systems that run inside a customer’s own IT environment rather than relying on shared, general-purpose models. The company packages its technology as software applications and AI agents tailored to specific business functions, and it focuses on regulated industries such as energy, manufacturing, aerospace, financial services, and semiconductors, sectors where data sensitivity and compliance rule out off-the-shelf models.
The business has gained real traction. Articul8 has surpassed $90 million in total contract value from 29 paying customers, a list that includes Hitachi Energy. The company expects to close the year with annual recurring revenue of just over $57 million, a strong figure for a company barely two years removed from its spinout.
The Series B proceeds will go primarily toward expanding research and product development and scaling operations internationally, with a particular focus on Europe and parts of Asia.
Reaching a $500 million valuation in under two years reflects how much demand there is among large, regulated enterprises for AI they can run on their own terms. With the first half of its round secured, Articul8 is positioning itself to deepen that foothold as the full Series B comes together.
