Agave, a San Francisco, California software company serving the construction industry, has raised a $15 million Series A round to bring more AI into contractor financials. Accel, which also led Agave’s seed round, led the financing, with continued participation from Y Combinator, taking total funding past $20 million.
Founded in 2021 by Tom Reno, John Zucchi and Pooria Azimi, Agave sells a unified API that links the accounting, ERP and project management systems contractors already run, then layers AI on top for tasks like accounts-payable invoice processing, expense management, vendor compliance and analytics. It connects more than 14 systems across cloud, hosted and on-premise setups and serves over 500 general and specialty contractors.
The company, which says it has been profitable for more than two years and tripled revenue year over year, will use the capital to expand its team and scale its product suite.
