Epitel, a Salt Lake City company building wireless brain monitoring technology, has closed a $26 million Series B round. Catalyst Health Ventures and Genoa Ventures jointly led the financing, which was announced on July 28, 2026.

The company’s REMI Remote EEG Monitoring System is a medical device that captures extended, wireless EEG readings and pairs them with AI driven event detection. Its aim is to widen access to neurological care, starting with the detection and diagnosis of seizures.

Epitel points to a large gap in care. About 9.2 million Americans have seizures each year, yet roughly 40 percent lack access to EEG, in part because only 27 percent of United States hospitals can run one.

The company’s REMI Vigilenz tool reviews REMI recordings to flag possible seizures, helping clinicians work through long studies and reach a diagnosis faster. The system is cleared for neurological monitoring in patients as young as one year old, with AI assisted event detection available for patients aged six and up.
