Valar Atomics has raised $1 billion in a Series B led by Sequoia Capital and closed a $200 million credit facility alongside it. The round values the nuclear energy company at $6 billion.

Riot Ventures, Point72 Ventures, Conviction Partners, Snowpoint Ventures, Apandion, Dream Ventures and HOF Capital also participated.

The raise follows a technical milestone that few startups in the sector have reached. Valar completed Ward 250, a 30 MW waterless reactor, which became the first startup built advanced reactor to achieve self sustaining criticality and to directly power an NVIDIA Blackwell cluster. That result has since turned into a formal collaboration with NVIDIA to build waterless, atomic powered AI factories.

The company is based in El Segundo, California, and was founded three years ago.

Capital goes toward moving from demonstration to mass production of integrated reactor fleets, building localized nuclear fuel production labs, and expanding a vertically integrated hardware supply chain aimed at global AI data center power demand.
