Quantum Bridge Technologies has closed an $8 million Series A round led by Primo Capital SGR, money it will put toward accelerating the global shift to quantum-safe cybersecurity infrastructure.

The company was founded in 2019 by Mattia Montagna and Hoi-Kwong Lo, emerging from one of the world’s leading quantum security research groups to build quantum-safe security solutions. Its focus is the systemic threat that quantum computing poses to today’s cryptographic infrastructure. At the center of its work is a patented protocol called Distributed Symmetric Key Establishment, or DSKE, which lets organizations generate, distribute, and manage symmetric keys through a decentralized architecture. That approach removes single points of failure, improves scalability, and strengthens long-term cryptographic resilience.

The platform is designed to work across existing infrastructure, vendors, and security layers, so organizations can add quantum-safe protection, from optical encryptors up to application-level systems, without disrupting their current operations. The company frames its aim as making defense-grade security practical for commercial environments, helping customers move through their quantum-safe migration with more scalability, flexibility, and confidence.

The round drew a global syndicate of investors, including Wayra, the venture arm of Telefónica, along with Cadenza VC, Club degli Investitori angels, HPE, and Bacchus Venture Capital. Combined with earlier financing, the new money brings Quantum Bridge’s total capital raised to $16 million. For Primo Capital, leading the round marks its entry into the quantum technology sector, which it views as a cornerstone of digital resilience over the coming decade.
