Dominion Dynamics Raises $139M Series A for Arctic Defense Tech

Dominion Dynamics, a defense technology company based in Ottawa, Ontario, has closed a CDN $139 million (about US$100 million) Series A, described as the largest defence round of its kind in Canadian history. Announced on June 30, 2026, the all-equity financing was led by existing investor Georgian, with new backing from Valor Equity Partners, the Valor Atreides AI Fund, Expeditions, Lakestar, OMERS Ventures, BDC Capital’s Strong North Fund, Deloitte Ventures, Royal Bank of Canada, and JDY Capital.

Founded in June 2025 by Eliot Pence, the company wants to become an early line of defense in the Arctic. Its immediate priorities are scaling an Arctic surveillance network and its drone systems.

At the center of the work is AuraNet, a software platform that pulls scattered sensors and communications together into a single operating picture for command and control. A second product, an autonomous system called Scout, is built to extend the reach of crewed aircraft into remote and demanding settings, starting with the Arctic.

Dominion Dynamics plans to grow its team from about 50 people to more than 100, including through possible acqui-hires, and to open offices in the United States, where it intends to set up a subsidiary, and in Europe by the end of 2026.
