Point2 Technology has extended its Series B again, bringing the round to $136 million in total. LB Investment led the extension, Arm came in as a new strategic investor, and existing backers including Maverick Silicon stayed in. The wider investor roster now takes in NVIDIA, UMC Capital, Molex and Bosch Ventures.
The San Jose company is chasing a problem sitting at the centre of every AI buildout: how to move enormous amounts of data between chips without burning power or space. Copper runs out of reach. Optical costs money and adds latency.
Point2’s e-Tube platform is a third option. Against copper, the company claims roughly ten times the reach with five times less cable weight and half the volume. Against optical cabling, it claims three times lower power, three times lower cost and a thousand times lower latency.
The money accelerates commercialization across three implementations: Active RF Cable, near packaged e-Tube and co packaged e-Tube. All three are aimed at high bandwidth scale up connectivity inside the next generation of AI systems.
Arm’s participation is worth noting on its own. Strategic money from a company that defines chip architecture suggests the semiconductor industry is treating interconnect as a design problem rather than a cabling one, which is a shift in how these systems get built in California and everywhere else.
