Axya has announced a $17 million CAD Series A round to build out its platform and AI capabilities. McRock Capital led the financing, with Yamaha Motor Ventures participating. Existing shareholders, among them the Business Development Bank of Canada’s Industrial Innovation Venture Fund and Real Ventures, backed the round as well. Axya also set up a new banking relationship with CIBC, which is providing financing for its next phase of growth.
Based in Montréal, Quebec, Axya offers an AI-powered procurement platform that automates sourcing and purchasing for manufacturers. It concentrates on three customer sectors: aerospace and defense, custom machinery and vehicles, and natural resources and processing. Manufacturers such as MDA Space and GE Aerospace use it to modernize procurement across mid-market and enterprise operations.
The company’s aim is to make supply chains at complex manufacturers more predictable, cost-effective and resilient. It gets there by pairing deep ERP integrations with AI-powered workflows that work alongside existing procurement teams. Axya plugs into Infor, Epicor, Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Sage to link supplier networks with ERP data.
Procurement staff stay in control under Axya’s human-in-the-loop model. The AI handles the most time-consuming pieces, such as normalizing data, flagging risks early and spotting savings, which leaves people free to focus on strategic calls. Suppliers do not have to adopt a new portal. They can keep working through their current file formats and channels, and Axya says this gives it a 100% supplier adoption rate.
Founder and CEO Félix Bélisle-Dockrill has a background in mechanical engineering. Earlier in his career he worked in supplier quality at two of the largest aerospace manufacturers, where he dealt firsthand with the difficulty of evaluating and managing suppliers.
The new funding will deepen Axya’s AI capabilities for risk detection, optimization and automated workflows. The company will also expand its sales, customer success and engineering teams, strengthen its North American presence, move into international markets and widen its ERP partnerships and partner programs.
