Cytix Raises $7M Series A to Govern AI Code Risk

Cytix has raised $7 million, or roughly five million pounds, in a Series A round led by Northern Gritstone. Existing investors Auriga Cyber Ventures and NPIF II, PXN Equity Finance, managed by PXN Ventures as part of the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund II, also took part.

The Manchester company is chasing a problem that has grown alongside AI coding tools. Software now changes faster than most governance processes were built to handle, and AI assisted development, agentic workflows and continuous delivery have all pushed that pace higher. Cytix sells what it calls a security decision layer, a change risk management platform that watches every software change a business makes, analyses and validates the risk attached to it, and produces an explanation regulators can read.

That last part is the commercial hook. In enterprise and regulated businesses, change governance is not optional, and the funding is aimed squarely at reaching those buyers faster.

Cytix was founded in 2023 and has built distribution beyond its own sales motion. Customers can buy the platform directly or reach it through managed service partnerships with NCC Group and KPMG.

The raise adds to a busy year for cybersecurity companies in the north of England, and for UK founders building tools that sit between fast moving engineering teams and the compliance obligations their employers carry.

Sellers targeting security buyers can get verified contacts at newly funded companies in this category every week through Cyber Security Lead Generation.
