Convex announced a $57 million Series B on August 4, 2026, led by Insight Partners. Etna Labs participated alongside existing investors a16z and Spark Capital. Total funding now stands at $110.5 million.

The company sells a backend platform built around reliability at scale. Database, functions, workflow, sync, search and file storage all ship together, written in TypeScript with no glue code between them. ACID transactions, end to end type safety and realtime subscriptions are on by default rather than bolted on.

That design has become more relevant as more application code is written by agents. Software generated quickly tends to fail at the seams between services, which is precisely the surface Convex removes.

The company was founded by early Dropbox infrastructure engineers and is headquartered in San Francisco, California. It holds SOC 2 Type II certification and is HIPAA compliant.

New capital accelerates core software development, investment in agentic development tooling, and hiring at the San Francisco office.
