Corner Health, a Santa Monica, California company, has closed a $25 million Series A led by the health care investor Oak HC/FT. Existing backers First Round Capital and Zigg Capital also took part. Combined with $7.5 million in seed and pre-seed money, total funding now stands at $32.5 million.

Lava Sunder and Anne Gifford co-founded the company, which sells an AI powered operating platform covering scheduling, patient communication, lab orders and referrals. The idea is to let nurse practitioners run as solo practitioners without hiring support staff around them.

The service currently operates in Arizona and Washington state, where 70 nurse practitioners use the platform. Its cap table also includes Homebrew, Pathlight Ventures, Wischoff Ventures and Go Global Ventures.

Corner Health plans to spend the new money on growing its team, deepening the technology platform and launching in additional states.
