Alchemab Therapeutics, a clinical-stage biotech based in London, has extended its Series A financing with a £25 million investment, about €29.3 million or $34 million, from the British Business Bank. The commitment is the bank’s largest direct investment in a life sciences company to date and lifts Alchemab’s total Series A to roughly £109 million (€127.8 million).

Founded in 2019, Alchemab hunts for protective antibodies in people who show unusual resilience to hard-to-treat diseases. Its Resiliome platform uses AI-derived algorithms to identify naturally occurring antibodies, which the company then develops into first-in-class drug candidates.

The funding will support Alchemab’s clinical pipeline and expand its proprietary antibody dataset from 500 million to a billion sequences, while advancing further candidates into clinical development.
