Luxonis, a company based in Littleton, Colorado, has closed a $14 million Series A led by Denali Growth Partners, with participation from Taiwania Capital. The round marks the first institutional investment for the business, which spent more than seven years growing on support from friends and family.
Founded in 2019, Luxonis took an unusual route for a hardware company, launching a 2020 Kickstarter campaign that raised $1.3 million from more than 6,500 backers. Counting that crowdfunding, the company has now brought in over $23 million in total.
Luxonis builds both the cameras and the software that give robots sight, a core layer of physical AI that lets vision-language and vision-action models make sense of their surroundings. Its open-source DepthAI SDK has passed 6 million downloads, and its customer base spans thousands of companies, including more than 60 in the Fortune 500 and 17 of the 30 firms in the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
The new capital will fund commercial growth, advance the product roadmap, and scale production of the OAK camera platform to meet demand from the physical AI market. Luxonis also plans to expand supply-chain capacity, build out its OAK4 ecosystem, push further into edge AI, hire, and develop new devices for agriculture, robotics, defense, industrial automation, medical technology, and warehousing.
