Moonwalk Biosciences, a biotech company developing RNA interference medicines aimed at fat tissue for obesity and cardiometabolic disease, has raised $70 million in Series B financing. The company is based in South San Francisco, California, and the round was reported on September 8, 2026.

Alpha Wave and YK Bioventures co-led the Series B. Eli Lilly and Company, Gaorong Ventures, ARCH Venture Partners, Khosla Ventures, and Future Ventures also participated.

The money will carry the company’s lead obesity candidate, MW101, into first-in-human clinical studies in late 2027, grow its pipeline of tissue-targeted siRNA medicines, and further develop its discovery platform.

Led by CEO Alex Aravanis, M.D., Ph.D., Moonwalk combines human genetics, epigenomics, and multi-omics discovery with proprietary tissue-targeting chemistry. The goal is to act precisely on new, non-incretin pathways behind obesity while preserving lean muscle mass and limiting effects on other tissues. The company operates in California.

CROs, manufacturers, and other partners to clinical-stage drug developers can get verified contacts at newly funded biotech companies each week through B2B Lead Generation For BioTech.
