LOOK OPTIC, a New York eyewear brand known for over-the-counter progressive reading glasses, has closed a Series B financing round led by Connecticut Innovations, which increased its position alongside Alex Rodriguez and Billie Jean King.

The company plans to use the money to move into men’s eyewear and sun products and to accelerate its push into retail, with its first store set to open in the Nolita neighborhood on November 1. Alex Rodriguez joined as a brand partner earlier this year to anchor the men’s line, and the brand has run collaborations with figures including Eva Mendes and Diane Keaton.

The financing supports LOOK OPTIC’s expansion across new product categories and sales channels.
