Empirik.ai has emerged from stealth with a $21 million Seed round backed by Sequoia Capital, S32, Canapi Ventures and Alumni Ventures. The company announced the round on September 2, 2026.
It operates from Menlo Park, California, and it is selling what it calls the industry’s first AI agent for infrastructure change.
The problem it addresses is a familiar one for platform teams. Infrastructure changes carry risk that is hard to quantify in advance, so they queue up behind human review. Empirik’s agent works out the intent behind a proposed change, calculates its potential blast radius, and decides whether the change can be executed autonomously or needs to be escalated to a person.
The company frames this as understanding engineer intent, computing impact deterministically, and executing complex infrastructure work at machine speed.
Kartik Chandrayana is chief executive. He previously ran more than 30 infrastructure products at Salesforce. Empirik.ai was created by Avon Puri and Sudheer Dhurjati and incubated inside Sequoia Capital with support from partner Bogomil Balkansky.
The technology is already running in production at Guardant Health, Avahi, TCBPay and several Fortune 500 companies, which is unusual for a company only now going public with its funding.
Managed service providers and consultancies selling into infrastructure teams can find newly funded buyers through Lead Generation for IT Services.
