Arcturus, an advanced materials company based in Los Angeles, California, has emerged from stealth with an $8 million Seed round led by Initialized Capital. The round, announced on June 30, 2026, also drew 1517, Breakthrough Energy Discovery, Toyota Ventures, and Wireframe Ventures, and brings total funding to $10 million.

Founded by Amir Mashal, Arcturus is developing a way to infuse carbon nanomaterials into metals, creating a class of materials meant to improve electrical, thermal, and mechanical performance. The company is positioning the result as a drop in replacement for parts across electrical systems.

Target uses include motor windings, bus bars, and heat sinks, with plans to extend over time to transmission lines and broader grid infrastructure. The company sees applications spanning electric motors, thermal management, data centers, and power transmission.

Arcturus plans to use the capital to grow its technical team, scale manufacturing, and move its carbon enhanced metals toward wider commercial use.
