Axis Robotics, a Berkeley, California company building a data engine for physical AI, has raised $12 million in a seed round. Hack VC led the financing, which was announced on July 27, 2026.

Nomad Capital, Pi Network Ventures and 10K Ventures joined the round, along with several angel investors. The company is working on what it calls a compounding data engine, meant to supply scalable, structured training data for robots and to address the shortage and fragmentation of that data in the physical AI field.

Axis Robotics automates the capture and processing of varied robotic training trajectories and draws on a distributed global network of contributors. Its team brings together AI and robotics researchers from institutions such as UC Berkeley, Carnegie Mellon University, Georgia Tech, NTU and SJTU.

The company plans to use the new money to expand its procedural generation tools and grow that contributor network.
