701x, an agricultural technology company based in Fargo, North Dakota, has closed an oversubscribed $10 million Series B round. The company announced the close on June 4, 2026.
The round stands out for how it came together. 701x raised its Series B entirely from individuals who believe in the company’s mission, including local North Dakotans and Minnesotans reaching into the greater Minneapolis area, along with rancher-users from across the country who have used the platform firsthand. No venture capital or institutional investors took part.
Over six years, 701x has built what it calls the only complete technology ecosystem focused exclusively on beef cattle. That spans on-ranch software, breed association software, smart GPS and health-monitoring ear tags, DNA solutions, and a growing accessory line. Its satellite GPS ear tags track cattle health, fertility, and location.
Alongside the raise, the company announced that it has reached profitability, added experienced talent, and is accelerating a major global expansion. By integrating robotics and automation across its production line, 701x has cut assembly costs for its signature xTpro smart ear tag by 75 percent. The company plans to use the capital for global expansion, with launches planned in Australia, New Zealand, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and Brazil by the end of 2026.
