PIX Moving Secures $11 Million for Autonomous Vehicle Expansion

PIX Moving, a Chinese EV chassis maker, has secured $11 million in a pre-Series A funding round led by a single undisclosed investor. This brings the company’s total capital raised to $20 million. PIX Moving is known for its modular architecture and skateboard chassis platforms, which can be adapted to meet various self-driving scenarios.

The company, which graduated from HAX’s second batch, initially focused on drone solutions before transitioning to autonomous skateboards and eventually self-driving vehicles. With the new funding, PIX Moving plans to scale its vehicles toward mass production for its own skateboard chassis platforms and robo buses. The funds will also be used to expand the company’s global markets, increase production, and hire new team members.

PIX Moving aims to reach production capacities of 1,200 to 2,500 vehicles this year alone. The company’s vision extends beyond just autonomous vehicles, focusing on the relationship between humans and space in future cities. PIX Moving’s modular architecture allows its skateboards to be adapted for various applications, such as autonomous vending cars, mobile offices, self-driving hotels, or moving karaoke.

The company’s approach is distinct from other players in the full-stack space, as it focuses on developing a new city and using infrastructures rather than solely focusing on delivering people or goods. PIX Moving’s patented vehicle generative design algorithms and large-scale metal 3D printing system enable it to reduce vehicle parts and assembly work by 60%, allowing for quick product development and manufacturing on its skateboard chassis platform and toolchains.

With its innovative approach and modular architecture, PIX Moving is poised to make significant strides in the autonomous mobility sector. The company’s focus on the broader urban ecosystem and its ability to adapt its technology to various applications position it as a compelling partner in the development of future cities.
