HarbourView Equity Partners Invests in Mucho Mas Media to Expand LatinX Content in Film and TV
Mucho Mas Media, an independent studio dedicated to creating culturally meaningful content that celebrates the Latino community and diverse audiences, has recently secured an investment from HarbourView Equity Partners. This partnership marks HarbourView’s second venture into the film and television space, further expanding its presence in the entertainment industry.
Founded in 2017 by Javier Chapa and Simon Wise, Mucho Mas Media is known for producing and distributing content that tells meaningful stories that entertain, thrill, and inspire. The company has been behind notable projects such as Netflix’s “Blue Miracle” and has a diverse content slate that includes horror/sci-fi films, biopics, and drama features.
HarbourView Equity Partners, an industry-leading alternative asset management company focused on investment opportunities in the sports, media, and entertainment space, believes that Mucho Mas possesses the skillful ability to drive return on investment (ROI) by centering audiences and delivering compelling stories. HarbourView CEO Sherrese Clarke Soares expressed her enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that Mucho Mas’ ability to produce rich, universal stories for all audiences aligns perfectly with HarbourView’s mission to become a valued ecosystem for the creator economy and creative community at large.
Through this investment, HarbourView will work closely with Mucho Mas’ management to drive ROI, leveraging HarbourView’s proprietary data-driven insights into global audiences to deliver value to Mucho Mas and HarbourView stakeholders. HarbourView will also executive produce the films in Mucho Mas’ content slate, including the upcoming feature “The Long Game,” an adaptation of Humberto G. Garcia’s inspirational golf novel “Mustang Miracle.”
Mucho Mas Media’s co-founders, Javier Chapa and Simon Wise, expressed their gratitude to HarbourView and other investors for their commitment to empowering Latino founders and startups, which will contribute to the expansion and betterment of the global media industry. Mucho Mas Media includes two affiliated companies: Inclusion Management, a talent management business representing and elevating premier diverse film and TV creators, and CHiSPA Comics, producing Latino-focused comic books for global comic book fanatics that also serves as an IP development “lab” for future film and TV projects.
In addition to HarbourView, Mucho Mas Media has secured investments from other notable entities, including the family office of NBA Hall of Fame “The Admiral” David Robinson, business and political leader Henry Cisneros, and Texas-based real estate investment and venture capital firm Barshop Ventures, among others.
HarbourView Equity Partners was represented in the deal by Michael Miller and Alissa Miller at Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld LLP, while Mucho Mas Media was represented by Darrel Barros and Kimberly Mann at Shulman Rogers LLP, as well as Teresa Walsh and Tarek Sadi at Access Media Advisory.
This investment underscores HarbourView’s commitment to supporting premium content across the entertainment, sports, and media markets. Since its launch in 2021, HarbourView has amassed roughly $1.5 billion in regulatory assets under management, including over 60 music catalogs and investments in two media production companies, MACRO and Mucho Mas Media, both with a mission to center premium storytelling.
HarbourView’s distinctly diverse music portfolio features thousands of titles spanning numerous genres, eras, and artists, amounting to a diversified catalog of approximately 29,000 songs across both master recordings and publishing income streams.
